CPMR Maritime Agenda – Moving from the Negotiation phase to Implementation

10.10.2013

As negotiations on the budget for post-2013 EU policies are coming to a conclusion, the CPMR welcomes the impetus given to Europe’s maritime dimension through the blue growth strategy and the practical implementation of these guidelines in European maritime policies.

Following its General Assembly in Saint-Malo, the CPMR will continue to support the development of European maritime policies. It will also develop specific actions to facilitate their implementation. Through its Geographical Commissions and the maritime initiatives being pursued as part of its maritime agenda, the CPMR will contribute to the organisation of meetings and/or the development of relevant projects.

In the coming months, the CPMR will be pleased to carry on working with the European institutions, including the Lithuanian, Greek and Italian Presidencies for a better integrated maritime policy, for the development of a European Maritime Policy with a strong territorial and spatial dimension, for a blue growth strategy that combines existing and emerging sectors, as well as for oceans and coasts protected from accidents and pollution.
